How do I connect a 5.1 surround sound system to both blu ray and xbox 360?

Both my blu ray and xbox are connected to the tv via HDMI cables. Is there any way to use 5.1 surround sound with both and what cables do I need to buy?How do I connect a 5.1 surround sound system to both blu ray and xbox 360?
Just find a multi-jack which can combine both outputs in one place!
Providing that your 5.1 surround sound system has an optical audio input. Then you can connect an optical audio cable from the tv to your surround sound system. Keep in mind that those home theater in a box are not flexible for adding anything to it. They are designed for you to watch a movie with surround sound only. A receiver is the best choice or you can purchase one of them sound bars. The only system I would recommend that is considered a home theater in a box is the Onkyo HT-S3400, it is a 5.1 receiver and a set of speakers. Hope this will help you out.How do I connect a 5.1 surround sound system to both blu ray and xbox 360?
Solution 1: Connect Audio Out on back of TV to Audio Input of receiver power your 5.1 speakers. Audio out is going to be RCA (RED/WHITE) or Digital Toslink Optical. Look here for more http://www.allabouthomeelectronics.com/c鈥?/a>

Solution 2: Assuming your Surround Sound System is capable, run you blu ray and x-Box through the Surround Sound and the to the TV.
