I have fiber optic connection between my blu ray and my surround sound but can't get rear speakers to work?

I connected my blu ray player to my surround sound system system with a fiber optic cable. The sound comes out great from most of my speakers - but the rear speakers do not have any sound. Help? I have a samsung dvr/surround sound system and it is connected to a samsung blu ray player.I have fiber optic connection between my blu ray and my surround sound but can't get rear speakers to work?
You should check audio settings on Blu-ray player menu.
Some inexpensive home theater in a box systems will only play surround using the built in DVD player anything else connected will only play in stereo, this is one reason to stay away from home theater in a box units....I would check the manual and read it very carefully to see if that is the case.I have fiber optic connection between my blu ray and my surround sound but can't get rear speakers to work?
After you make sure all the connections on the back of the receiver are correct, check to see if the speaker wires are getting shorted, i.e. positive getting in contact with the negative.
The other thing you could check is if your config is 5.1 or 7.1, the blue ray, TV and receiver ( if any) are in surrond mode and not in stereo modeI have fiber optic connection between my blu ray and my surround sound but can't get rear speakers to work?
Put your home theater receiver in multi and you should get some sound
