Can you play blu ray movies on a non high definition television?

I'm interested in buying a blu ray player but I don't have a high definition TV. Can I still use it to watch blu ray movies. Can you play blu ray movies on a non high definition television?
Yes. The picture and sound quality may not be up to par, but as long as you have a Blu Ray player, you should be good to go.
Most blue ray players require an HDMI or component video inputs, and most non HDTVs do not have that. However, if you are able to hook it up to your tv, it should work, but will not look better than your regular dvd.Can you play blu ray movies on a non high definition television?
You should be able to -- assuming your Blu-Ray player has AV outputs (those 3 red, white and yellow cables that most TV's have).

The quality won't be as good as true HD, that's all.Can you play blu ray movies on a non high definition television?
Yes. It just won't be the true Blu Ray experience. The clarity and picture won't look as good.
