Is it possible to play a regular dvd on a blu-ray dvd player?

I heard that they've stopped making hd dvd players. I have multiple dvds that wouldnt ever be made into blu ray disks. would i still be able to play them on a blu-ray player if they stopped making regular dvd players?

thanks. Is it possible to play a regular dvd on a blu-ray dvd player?
Almost all Blu-Ray players will player your regular DVD's I personnaly have not seen a player that can not play a DVD, but have heard there a are couple. A Blu-Ray player will also upconvert a standard DVD to near HD quality, not quit as good as a Blu-Ray dics, but better then your regular DVD player
You should be able to. I don't think they will show up as HD though. I'm glad the war is finally over so I will buy a HD player. Is it possible to play a regular dvd on a blu-ray dvd player?
Read the specifications before you buy. Most Blu-Ray players will play standard DVDs, but not all of them do. But hey, as long as your standard DVD player still works you can still use it -- the picture won't be as good as Blu-Ray, but it'll still be darned good.Is it possible to play a regular dvd on a blu-ray dvd player?
Yes, Blu-Ray players will also play your older DVD movies. This could be specific to certain models, though. Be sure to check the player you plan to buy.
