I am looking to build an AMD computer with blu-ray capabilities. However I don't want integrated graphics on my motherboard. Is it possible to have a mother board that has its own blu-ray capabilities without onboard video or is the blu-ray integrated with the GPUs.

Blu-ray support comes from the GPU and most of the current dedicated graphics card are fully capable of supporting blu-ray. Nothing to worry about motherboard choices.
