How does a PS3 Blu Ray player compare to a regular one?

My HD DVD player broke for the third time this year so I'm switching to a Blu Ray player. I noticed that both the PS3 Slim and the Blu Ray player are he same price ($299.00) and was wondering which had better DVD quality. Also, does the first PS3 work as well and have the same Blu Ray player as the Slim?

PS3 is compatible with different types of formats as well. You will get the same kind of picture but the quality will look amazing. If you are thinking of buying one go for it because they are currently on offer at many places.

All ps3 players are blu-Ray. I have had mine for over 3 years and still the same great quality.
